Building innovations that last beyond a lifetime at Nucleus Software

Nucleus Software’s Senior Architect in the FinnOne Neo Engineering group, Mr. Abhishek Pallav, believes that the journey of a thousand miles or more, begins with the first step.

On that road, there will be struggles, hardships, and more. But we as human beings, have been blessed with the ability to innovate, to disrupt, to create chaos for positive change, and to create order out of chaos. The seconds pass by, and we at Nucleus Software wonder “How can I be or do more?”.

To Mr. Pallav, the answer is simple: give, love, bond, create, innovate, expect nothing in return.
The very act of creation, to bring and give life, is simply wondrous, as exemplified by the act of motherhood. In his words, Nucleus Software and what the organization does is the creation of solutions, which are a blend of techno-functional marvel.

Physical accomplishments can be many, but who is it for? Is it for ourselves, or the greater whole? Mr. Pallav stated that everyone on his team knows that what they’re doing, they’re doing for the nation.

To quote Spock from Star Trek, “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.” “We are here on this planet for a limited time only”, Mr. Pallav said. “Capitalize on this time.”
And capitalize it, he did.

A former banker, he understands the nuances of lending, to a great depth, which gives him a great advantage while architecting solutions in Nucleus Software’s flagship product – FinnOne Neo. Building technology driven products is his passion, and that’s exactly what he has been doing for close to 16 years at Nucleus Software, and otherwise too.

His message to newcomers is a simple one-

“Listen to your parents, respect them a lot, love your brother and sister. It is the code of our culture. Some part of you is a reflection of your mother, father, your background. Be honest with yourself.
That sense of pride we all seek? It comes from building something that lasts beyond this lifetime”

We asked Abhishek what he thinks about Nucleus Software’s value of Innovation and here are his thoughts-

Quite a lot of us can remember the definition of the “Induction Motor” given by Raju Rastogi in the movie 3 Idiots, that ending up ushering a common sense perspective to engineering. Interestingly, if we start counting the devices that are built on using the induction motor- from fans, washing machine, mixture grinders, to vehicles etc, we would be surprised by the sheer applicability of the small innovative device. The most impressive thing about this list though, is that the principle behind this innovation is 150+ years old and the induction motor has been able to withstand technology disruption over the years.

Drawing a parallel to such a fundamental principle in the financial landscape would be look at the lending business model which has withstood a history of 3000+ years without many mutations. “Disruptive” Innovation is not just about doing something which no one has done before, it is also about low cost and ease of serviceability over the period of time. It is also about developing intelligent solutions to complex problems and to generate novel and useful ideas for improving the human environment by exploring opportunities to learn and grow, be engaged in the creativity (which is the seed of innovation). One of the important aspect of innovation is unless it’s applied and scaled it’s still just an idea and to supplement it with an example is the MIT Startup Exchange Conference that I attended in 2019. Here, while a few companies were already into the business of quantum computing another section was under the impression that such technology is still on the papers.

“Innovation is not just about staying relevant with time, rather it is about creating and discovering something that has the ability to become exponentially relevant in the centuries to come.”

“Listen to your parents, respect them a lot, love your brother and sister. It is the code of our culture.

Some part of you is a reflection of your mother, your father, your background. Be honest with yourself, and do what you want.”

“That sense of pride we all seek? It comes from building something that lasts beyond this lifetime”, he says.

An example of such an innovative masterpiece is the classical portrait of Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. The innovative brushstrokes and techniques involving studying depth are used today in creating state of the art Augmented Reality applications.

Make the canvas of your imagination large enough to fit the universe, explore and sketch.
